Late 2020 my cousin living in Doha approached me with a problem she ambitiously set out to solve: isolation in the middle east for expat/relocated women, and a lack of resources (and support of) around mental health.
She came up with a solution in the form of a digital community, described as a digital 'majlis' (in Arabic, a sitting room where it's customary to host visitors and hold discussions, often over tea) for women to connect virtually, share their stories anonymously, and receive support from licensed therapists, counselors, and their peers.
The project is living and breathing, and for me, it was an exciting opportunity to exercise a dormant muscle of building a brand, and the collateral that comes with it.
